About the Job

The Vice President, Client Services, is responsible for the cultivation and management of client relationships with both new and existing market access clients. This role provides critical market access expertise to both clients and internal teams to ensure execution of strategically informed tactical plans. Is highly knowledgeable on a wide variety of market access topics, including the ever-evolving US healthcare landscape (including health plans, hospitals, and government programs), payer strategy, and pharmaceutical product commercialization. Able to provide critical market access expertise to both clients and internal teams to ensure execution of strategically informed tactical plans and works closely with COEUS subject matter experts when needed.

Duties/Responsibilities

Client Relationship and Delivery

Serves as the primary client team lead and strategic contact for assigned client(s), responsible for developing and supporting enduring client relationships

Responsible for identifying and maintaining knowledge of current industry trends, the payer landscape, as well as engaging in strategic planning initiatives to maximize commercial market access for biopharmaceutical products and devices

Responsible for strategic and tactical leadership and oversight, account management, and optimization of client engagement

Monitors client needs and ensures team is working effectively and efficiently to execute projects according to specifications

Oversees management of overall client obligations for project execution

Works directly with delivery teams and project managers to set and manage client expectations and help drive productivity, client satisfaction, and profitability

Leads client brand planning initiatives and creation of supporting presentations

Provides financial oversight for assigned revenue

Owns/contributes to content development, best practices, and resourcing logistics, such as:

Attends and participates in, often leads, internal and client calls for status, kickoffs, strategic discussions, project reviews, and other client-required meetings

Reviews tactics to ensure content and visuals are aligned to brand strategy and brand vision

Attends internal and external client phone calls to discuss product and/or above-brand strategic and tactical needs, talks with the client about specific issues, brainstorming, and direct solutions

Collaborates with in-house industry experts to contribute as appropriate on identified topics aligned to specific channel expertise

Guides client to develop specific objectives and assists in creation of presentations to develop framework and content to support solutions or conceptual approaches

Debriefs internal staff for alignment on client requests and follow-up actions from meetings

Provides guidance to copywriters and delivery teams to ensure strategies and positioning is carried through story flow for leadership decks and other deliverables

Industry Knowledge

Advanced market access business acumen for standard business offering within an agency environment

Advanced understanding of the healthcare payer space—the various needs of, and dynamics between, the stakeholders involved and market trends that are impacting the industry

Supervision and Leadership

Assists in the development of Account Directors and Project Managers assigned to their client team to ensure staff members’ performance meets and/or exceeds both the business goals as well as their own personal goals/objectives

Works with leadership in developing talent pipeline of existing and future staff within the agency, including individual development plans and succession plans

Maintains a positive, results-oriented, and engaging work environment

Works cross-functionally and collaborates with other functions as appropriate

Ensures all direct reports are knowledgeable and compliant with all internal standard operating procedures, processes, and administrative requirements

Business Development

Leads sales efforts to achieve revenue targets in new and existing accounts

Secures organic growth with existing clients for y-t-y engagements

Participates in business development activities (RFI/RFP/pitches)

Development of targeted proposals/statements of work

Identifies cross-function new business opportunities beyond own function

Other

Uses and is compliant with required company systems and adheres to best practices and standard operation procedures as trained

Given the nature of the work, at times be asked to be flexible and to offer extended support outside of normal working hours to meet the business needs. This may also include weekend work

Performs other duties as assigned
