Account Director

About the Job

The Account Director plays a key role in COEUS client-facing staff and day-to-day on client expectations and updates on client communications. This position will support high volume of tactical projects in addition to providing support to Vice President, Client Services, to meet business needs. Candidates should have experience working closely with content, editorial, creative, and digital teams. The ideal candidate is highly experienced in working with and managing many deliverables across multiple pharma clients and products and should have a complete understanding of the MLR submission process. Successful candidates will be collaborative by nature, proactive and extremely disciplined. Exceptional communication and presentation skills a plus.

Duties/Responsibilities

Client and Project Management

Secondary client team lead (to Vice President, Client Services) and day-to-day contact for assigned client(s) responsible for developing and supporting enduring client relationships

Manages overall client obligations regarding all aspects of project execution, including day-to-day knowledge of project status and progress to meet client objectives on time and on budget

Collaborates with industry experts, copy, creative, and consultants as the job requires to manage day-to- day activities and develop best-in-class communications

Meets with internal or external clients to understand needs, determine specifications, and coordinate planning. Attends kickoffs, discoveries, and regularly scheduled status meetings

Financial responsibility and oversight for client team including hours/budgets and reporting

Strategic Engagement

Understanding of the payer space and market access communications—the various needs of and dynamics between the stakeholders involved and market trends that are impacting the industry

Leadership/Team Management

Coaches/mentors project managers, Account Supervisors, and team members to exceed client needs and triage competing requests and find solutions for capacity and resource issues

Ensures all direct reports are knowledgeable and compliant with all internal standard operating procedures, processes, and administrative requirements

Business Development

Participates in business development activities including RFI/RFP responses and pitches

Responsible for the development of proposals/SOWs and project budget estimates. Proposals/SOWs to be reviewed by Vice President aligned to account or Senior Vice President when no Vice President assigned

Other

Uses and is compliant with required company systems and adheres to best practices and standard operation procedures as trained

Given the nature of the work, at times be asked to be flexible and to offer extended support outside of normal working hours to meet the business needs. This may also include weekend work

Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Skills and Abilities:

Serve as the primary client team lead and strategic contact for assigned client(s), responsible for developing and supporting enduring client relationships

Responsible for identifying and maintaining knowledge of current industry trends, the payer landscape, as well as engaging in strategic planning initiatives to maximize commercial market access for biopharmaceutical products and devices

Responsible for strategic and tactical leadership and oversight, account management, and optimization of client engagement

Monitors client needs and ensure the team is working effectively and efficiently to execute projects according to specifications

Oversees management of overall client obligations for project execution

Works directly with delivery teams and project management to set and manage client expectations and help drive productivity, client satisfaction, and profitability

Leads client brand planning initiatives and creation of supporting presentations

Provides financial oversight for assigned revenue

Excellent written and verbal communication, and time management skills

Rigorous attention to detail and accuracy

Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team

Demonstrated ability in relevant soft skills including change management, continuous improvement, conflict resolution and consensus building

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a cross-functional team

Flexible and able to multitask; can work within a fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems

Analytic and decisive decision maker with the ability to prioritize and communicate to staff key objectives and tactics necessary to achieve organizational goals

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

Familiar with electronic document submission systems, such as Veeva PromoMats or similar

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or experience in lieu of a degree

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in account management at a market access or promotional agency

Physical Requirements:

Ability to travel

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
