Dean Hakanson has a 25-year distinguished career as an executive in the biopharma industry, including experience with startups as well as large biotech organizations. As a board-certified anesthesiologist, his clinical practice has been focused on surgical and ICU patient care. He is recognized across the industry as being skilled in creating opportunities and alignment with senior leadership and having successfully developed strategic partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem. These partnerships include stakeholders within healthcare payers, organized providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and patient advocacy organizations.

Dr. Hakanson has held many leadership positions, including Partner at ZS, CMO at Otonomy, VP and Head of US Medical affairs at Gilead, and VP of HEOR at Novartis as well as being an executive leader at BMS, Genentech, and GSK.

He is recognized as a leader in health policy and economics with past board membership at the National Pharmaceutical Council and the Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics at the University of Southern California.
